Team sports can play an important role in your child's personal development. Holy Cross offers volleyball, basketball, track. Students in 3rd through 8th grade has an opportunity to participate in athletics. The mission of Holy Cross Athletic program is to provide an atmosphere for each student with knowledge of the sport, fundamental skills, teaching disipline, building community, and creating an attitude of good sportmanship.

CYO 3rd – 8th Grade
2011-2012 Basketball Information

Step 1: Register Online with the Greater CYO Office Today

If you have already registered your child with CYO this school year (possibly because they are playing volley-ball or football right now) you do not need to complete this step again. CYO registration is for one school year, and the fee is $25. The Registration and Parent Release form can be completed online at http://www.cyojwa.org. Players must be registered with Greater CYO in order to be added to a team roster.

Step 2: Sign-Up for Basketball with Holy Cross on Tuesday Night, 10/25

Basketball sign-up will take place on Tuesday night, 10/25 in Pflumm Hall. (Please see the sign-up schedule below). The early sign-up fee is $70 per player if paid on or before signup day. Uniforms will also be handed out during signup. If someone is unable to attend sign-up, they can pay their fee and pickup their uni-form before their evaluation. However, the fee will go up to $80 per player after the 10/25 sign-up.

Please Note: No player will receive a uniform or be allowed to go through evaluations unless their fee is paid. Sign-Up Deadline is Thursday, November 4th.

Sign-Up Schedule (Pay Fees / Checkout Uniforms)
6:00pm – 7:15pm | 3rd, 4th, 5th graders
7:15pm – 8:30pm | 6th, 7th, 8th graders

Step 3: Attend Basketball Evaluations (5th through 8th grade)

Basketball Evaluations will begin on Monday, November 7th for 5th thru 8th grade only. Players need to wear their uniform jersey to their evaluation. If your child cannot attend the scheduled evaluation for their grade, please contact Mike Miranda to make the necessary arrangements.

Coaches will receive their rosters and begin to notify their team by Sunday, November 13. Practices begin the week of November 14. If you have any questions, please contact Mike Miranda at mamiran-dam2004@yahoo.com, or at 913-341-6577.
